Iron Duke Miniatures

28mm figures for the Indian Mutiny I think. They say For the time being we are preoccupied with producing figures to recreate Brigadier General Henry Havelock's hard fought campaign to reach the besieged garrison at Lucknow. All is explained at the 'Historical Notes' section of the website, where you can also find such useful resources as sketch maps, orders of battle, organizational notes and a comprehensive uniform guide.  Look good - facebook page also. 

Emhar Franco-Prussian war 1/72

I got really excited when these came out in 2007. I thought they would be really popular but I don't think they were. Separate packs and a hardish bendable plastic made these pretty desirable. They did Prussians and Zouaves too. I think the company ended but you can still pick them up on ebay and so on. See them on Plastic Soldier Review.

Centenary of the first tank battle.

Villers-BretonneuxThe first tank against tank combat in history took place on 24 April 1918 when three A7Vs (including chassis number 561, known as "Nixe") taking part in an attack with infantry incidentally met three Mark IVs (two female machine gun-armed tanks and one male with two 6-pounder guns) near Villers-Bretonneux. During the battle, tanks on both sides were damaged. Read more on the wiki
